Defibrillators

There are two different types of cardiac defibrillators. They are either manual or automatic. The convenient thing about automatic cardiac defibrillators is that they do not require any special training, and they can be used by lay persons with no medical knowledge. Because they are automatic, there is a slight delay between the when the heart stops and the electric current, sometimes as much as twenty seconds. Clearly, if you need to use a cardiac defibrillator, you need to know everything you can about the products, how they use, who needs them, and how they are work. Knowing everything about a cardiac defibrillator might save a life later, yours or somebody else’s. With that in mind, we’re striving to bring you accurate, updated information about cardiac defibrillators and all of our other products.

Defibrillation is used to treat cardiac arrhythmias, ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. It treats these problems by administering a small electric current to the heart. This does many things, including allowing normal sinus rhythm to be established by the heart’s natural pacemaker. The ability to use defibrillation to make heart beats was established in 1899, though it wasn’t used on a living personal until several decades later, in 1947.  Since then, the science has progressed to the point that automatic defibrillators can actually be found in a host of “high risk” areas, including casinos, office buildings, airports, sports centers, schools, restaurants, hotels, community centers, fitness centers, and health clubs. In an emergency, anybody can handle an automatic cardiac defibrillator, and thus, having one on hand in high stress places, or places with a large amount of public. So if you work in a place that keeps an automatic defibrillator on hand, it would be best for you to research what they are and how to use them, because that could ultimately save a life while waiting for ambulances and medical professionals to arrive. You probably seen other defibrillators on television shows and movies set in hospitals.
