AED Machines

Every year, nearly three hundred people suffer from sudden cardiac arrests. That is an amazing number, especially since doctors do not even know what causes the arrhythmia that leads to sudden cardiac arrests. Arrhythmia is when the electric jolts in your heart begin to be erratic and it causes your heart to quiver. The only way to stop this and make your heart beat normally again is with some sort of defibrillator. The portable ones that EMTs carry for emergency response is called the automatic external defibrillator, or AED machines. Emergency medical responders are not the only ones to carry these machines. People who are prone to this type of condition, especially people who already suffered from one cardiac arrest, might find they have to carry an aed machine regularly, with it attached to their chest. That is because an AED device doesn’t just treat arrhythmia, it actually senses when it happens and immediately sends a jolt to the heart to reverse the negative effects.

Because AED machines are sensitive and precise instruments that are designed to be light, portable, and convenient to use, it is not the cheapest machine around. Sometimes insurance will cover the use, but that is by no means any sort of guarantee. Sometimes the hospital will provide one, but again, that is no guarantee. However, they are worth the price because they are literally the only thing that can immediately fix arrhythmia, and literally hundreds of thousands of people die every year because their heart stops before emergency medical responders can reach the scene and use their aed device.
