AED Training

AED training is critical if you are going to be using an automatic external defibrillator, or I you think there is the possibility that you could use one in the future. For example, if you work in a school office and your school recently acquired an AED for the premises, you should be trained to use one in the case of an emergency. This type of training should also include basic CPR training. That’s because you need both types of training to effectively provide emergency care and save the life of the patient. However, automatic external defibrillators are easy to use, relatively, and they do not require extensive training. In fact, the American Heart Association has designed and now offers a combined CPR and AED class. This is to increase the knowledge of the automatic external defibrillator and the life-saving techniques you can use when a person is in sudden cardiac arrest. According to the American Heart Association’s website, the course itself is only four hours long. That is a relatively small amount of time that can make a major difference if you are ever called on to use the AED and to perform CPR.
Regardless of where you get your AED preparation, it is important to do it. It will take little time and little money, but while the investment is small, the ultimately payoff can be huge—is there any way you can measure the importance of saving a life? Not only that, with proper training, you are less likely to cause more damage than you are to help.
