Cardiovascular System
The main role of the cardiovascular system is to move nutrients, oxygen, and waste through the blood system. The main part of the system is the heart and blood vessels, and that does include the lungs or any other organs. Because this system is so important, it’s absolutely paramount to take good care of it. That is why eating right and exercising is so important. Aerobic exercise three times a week strengthens your heart and gets your blood working through your body. Your heart, like any other muscles, is benefited by working out and becoming stronger. A proper diet and exercise also reduces your blood pressure, which is a good thing, and helps keep the bad cholesterol down. Another thing that could harm this system is smoking, which can build up plaque on your arteries.
Blocked arteries could lead to heart attacks or strokes and be deadly. Many of the problems that can lead to heart attacks and strokes can be eliminated without surgery, but if you do not take those steps and be pro-active, you might need to have emergency surgery done. If you do have a heart attack, some of the damage caused by such an episode can also be fixed or reversed with surgery. But clearly, that is not a great options because surgery always carries a new risk.
If you take care of your cardiovascular system, it will take care of you. But that means doing little things every day to make it stronger and healthy, like choosing to eat low-fat foods and exercising regularly.
