EKG Classes
The EKG stands for electrocardiograph. It is a devise that is used in non-invasive procedures to monitor the electric currents of your heart. The electric charges are what causes your heart to pump, so obviously, if there is something amiss with the electric charges in your heart, there is going to be something wrong with the rhythm of your heart. If your heart rate is either too slow or too fast, you could suffer from dizzy spells, faint, or even have a heart attack. An abnormal EKG reading can warn when an attack or cardiac episode is impending. If somebody complains of chest pains, one of the first things medical respondents do is attach the patient to the EKG for a reading. Clearly, then the EKG is a vital tool in the medical field for doctors, nurses, and EMTs. As a result, anybody who wishes to work in one of those fields needs to know how to hook a patient up to an EKG, how to monitor a patient on the EKG, and how to read the EKG results. For that, there are EKG classes. Generally, these classes are offered to people who wish to be in the nursing field or to be certified emergency medical staff. It is a vital part of the training, and it is important enough that people might need to retake the classes for certification.
