EKG Tutorial
An electrocardiogram measures the electrical current in your heart. It is that current that makes your heart beat and controls the rhythm of the heart. If the rhythm is too slow or too fast, it’ll affect your blood pressure, which in turn will affect your overall health, and can lead to strokes, heart attacks, and death. If you complain of chest pains or other symptoms that indicate a problem with a heart, chances are, you will be hooked up to an EKG for a reading of your heart. But reading an EKG is not an easy thing, and most schools do not have the time or the resources to dedicate to reading an EKG rhythm strip. As a result, students have a relatively quick section on EKGs or hospitals require their medical staff to take specialized classes that do not do anything except cover how to read EKGs and EKG rhythm strips.
If you are in one of these classes, or you need to update your information, you might be looking for an EKG tutorial. There are actually many different websites that offer these sorts of tutorials, and some of them are free, some of them are not. Some tutorials can be taken over the computer, and some need to be ordered. There are a variety of tutorials available, so if you want to know which are the best ones and which will be the most helpful for you, you should ask your colleagues and fellow students if they’ve used a tutorial, which one they used, and how they would rate it.
