Lifepak AED

The Lifepak AED is a certain type of automatic external defibrillator. An automatic external defibrillator is a machine that you attach to the chest with pads. The pads will then send an electric jolt directly to the heart. This is necessary during sudden cardiac arrests, because sudden cardiac arrests are generally the result of arrhythmia. While nobody knows the precise causes of arrhythmia, people do know how to fix it. That’s with the application of an electric jolt, through the use of a defibrillator. A home, external defibrillator will not electrocute or shock the person using it, though it is best to make sure nobody is touching the patient’s body when the defibrillator is turned on and charged. When used with CPR, an automatic external defibrillator increases the chance of survival by at least fifty percent. That means that if you have somebody with a history of heart problems, you should have an automatic external defibrillator on hand for emergency use.

This Lifepak device is useful because it is very portable. It weighs only seven pounds, and so it is easy for anybody to carry, even somebody who is older or somebody who might be weakened by heart problems or other illnesses. It is durable and rugged, but a Lifepak device is best for people who only have occasional use for an AED, rather than an EMT or the like who will be using an AED often. This Lifepak device is also intuitive, so it is easy to learn how to use. Lifepak's model is also fairly affordable, but it should be purchased with the input from a doctor.
